This song consists of little more than four lines, but it seems to contain a whole world. When I listen to it, I always imagine all the people who live in this world. They watch TV and see someone who is supposed to be the happiest man on earth. This implies some kind of unhappiness. Still, the jolly melody of the song and the irony that nobody bothered to inform that person about all the buzz imply that you can still be glad and enjoy life even when you're not the happiest (or richest or most beautiful) person around. And who knows, maybe in that very moment you are the happiest person. Ah, I'm rambling.
lyrics
Last night I was the happiest man on earth, but nobody told me about it
Last night I was the happiest man on earth, but nobody told me about it
I was on TV
I was on the radio
My happy face in every late-night show
Last night I was the happiest man on earth, but nobody told me about it
Last night I was the happiest man on earth, but nobody told me about it
Last night I was the happiest man on earth, but nobody told me about it
Last night I was the happiest man on earth, but nobody told me about it
The happiest man!
